Compass Associates is proud to be working with a well-established provider of specialist education, day services and vocational provisions to recruit a full-time permanent Lead Occupational Therapist. This role involves working within specialist day services, colleges and vocational training facilities where you would assess, support and provide therapy for young people who have additional learning needs due to backgrounds of autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and sensory, motor and communication difficulties. There are extensive opportunities for the students who have access to a range of in-house vocational training including retail management, catering, horticulture, animal studies, labouring, internships and accessible employment options. As Lead Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with the Principal CEO and Senior Management Team to continuously review, develop and improve the organisation's Occupational Therapy provision. In addition to this you will supervise the two Band 5 Occupational Therapists, work collaboratively with the Speech & Language Therapists and liaise closely with families and external agencies including social services, community NHS teams and schools. Commutable from Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Mansfield, Rotherham, Worksop, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Retford, Peak District and surrounding areas. The Candidate Essential criteria: Degree in Occupational Therapy Current HCPC registration without conditions Previous experience working with young adults who have specialist educational needs, learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders Sensory Integration training is desirable but not essential UK driving licence and own car is essential Interview Process One stage: formal interview on site.
