Event Description
Join Renaissances, Stanford’s early modern focal group, as we host Brad Gregory (Henkels Family College Professor of History, University of Notre Dame) with Charlotte Thun-Hohenstein (PhD student, Department of History, Stanford). The latest iteration of Renaissances’ Graduate Research Series, this event will spotlight Charlotte Thun-Hohenstein’s dissertation chapter, “Doctor of Melancholy: The Heterodox Readers of Jeremias Drexel, S.J. (1581-1638).” Professor Gregory will offer a response to Charlotte’s work before inviting audience questions and roundtable discussion. To RSVP and receive copies of the work under discussion, please contact Mattea Koon at matteask@stanford.edu. Sponsored by the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages (DLCL) at Stanford University.
